Itinerant winemaking
Vite Sparse is a socially driven wine project based on itinerant winemaking, collaboration and a shared idea of wine and processes.
We asked ourselves whether it was possible to make wine without owning vineyards or a winery: by investing in a place, building relationships and creating a network of collaboration between growers, artisans and local communities.
Vite Sparse is our answer to this question: a nomadic winemaking project, a story of grapes, landscapes, and people.
The Grapes
Vite Sparse does not own vineyards. Instead, we work with small-scale growers who have chosen farming practices that respect the soil, the environment and the life of the vineyard, avoiding the use of harmful synthetic chemicals.We believe that good farming deserves to be fairly rewarded. We buy the grapes at a fair price and turn them into wines through our itinerant approach to winemaking.
The vinification
Vite Sparse does not have its own winery. We move with the grapes, working in small local cellars and using their spaces and equipment. We choose wineries that share our idea of wine as an expression of place, vintage and grape variety.
We believe in honest, low-intervention winemaking that allows the fruit to find its own natural expression. We do not use oenological additives or processing aids. All our wines ferment spontaneously and are bottled unfiltered. When necessary, we may add only very low doses of sulphur dioxide.
The single cask
Alongside our own wines, Vite Sparse aims to give a voice to the stories, ideas and projects of small producers.Inspired by the world of whisky, Single Cask is dedicated to one-off wines: forgotten barrels, experimental cuvees and unconventional projects that we believe deserve to be brought to life. We may purchase an entire barrel directly or support an experimental project from the beginning, giving the producer the financial and practical freedom to take a risk and see where it leads.
The brand
We make wines we like to drink: wines made for the table, for sharing and for bringing people together. Living, honest wines brought together under the name Vite Sparse. Wines that tell the stories of different growers, artisans and landscapes, united by a shared philosophy and a common purpose.
